A new committee has taken up its work and will help to further develop the Powerman Zofingen in the coming years. The newly formed advisory board includes well-known regional personalities from business and politics. They will assist the Powerman OC and support the duathlon event in Zofingen.
The new Powerman Zofingen advisory board is made up of well-known personalities.
The two women on the committee are the Mayor of Zofingen, Christiane Guyer, and
Marianne Wild, member of the Board of Directors of Hypothekarbank Lenzburg and
President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Canton Aargau (AIHK).
They are joined by three men, Thomas Burgherr (National Councillor and
entrepreneur), Claudio Galasso (founder of Datasport and management consultant)
and Olivier Annaheim (CEO of Condecta). Organising Committee President Stefan
Ruf heads this six-member Advisory Board. The advisory board will help to establish
the Powerman Zofingen as one of the leading mass sports events in the Mittelland
region and focus on the needs of current and future participants.
Raising awareness of the Powerman brand
The advisory board agrees that it is important to emphasise the essence of the brand
and the Powerman event. Datasport founder Claudio Galasso says: ‘The Powerman
is a pioneer and landmark of the duathlon with strong regional roots and worldwide
recognition. It is an honour for me to help shape the further development of this
unique event.’ And National Councillor Thomas Burgherr adds: ‘The entire Mittelland
region, especially the Zofingen region, has benefited from this unique event for 34
years. We want to contribute to the long-term positive development of this important
sporting event.’ Marianne Wild emphasises the importance of the Powerman. ‘The
event makes an important contribution to the attractiveness of the location and
deserves the attention it deserves,’ explains the AIHK President. Christiane Guyer,
Mayor of Zofingen, has joined the advisory board as the newest member and further
female reinforcement. She has already taken part in the Charity Powerman herself
and with her, the venue is also prominently represented on the Advisory Board.
Still vacant positions in the OC and helpers wanted
The long-distance duathlon world championships will take place in Zofingen in just
four months' time. The organising committee is well staffed and working intensively
on the preparations. Nevertheless, some positions in the organising committee are
still vacant. ‘In particular, we are looking for people to take over management in the
areas of safety and sustainability as well as PR and communication,’ explains
Mariann Ebeling, Head of Human Resources at Powerman Zofingen. Several
departments such as traffic management, operations centre, accommodation,
sponsor acquisition and route advertising are also just waiting to be taken on by
committed people. We are also still looking for energetic helpers for the race
weekend on 7/8 September 2024. If you are interested, please contact the person
responsible, Nicole Wang (nicole.wang@powerman.ch).
